We have started a new Fiction Unit in Literacy: Robin Hood!
Today the children acted out the legend of the infamous outlaw, including Sir Guy of Gisborne's reactions to the fiasco. Using their reciprocity skills, the children worked in teams to create their acts, and presented them in front of the class.
"Robin Hood is definitely pushing his luck if he thinks he won't get caught!" - Sophie, Oak
After reflecting on their dramatic scenes, the children were incredible at showing, not telling, the audience. Some of their actions included:
- Pressing the palms of their hands against their chin and gazing into the distance.
- Stuffing both hands deep into their pockets and looking intently across the archery field.
- Absent-mindedly winding a strand of their beard round their finger.
- Seeing the outlaw’s face through narrowed eyes and a fog of rage.
"Who does he think he is? He can't trick me like that and get away with it!" Finley, Almond
Excellent work, Year 6!
