In Year 6, our History unit is based on Crime & Punishment.
This week we were looking at the Anglo-Saxons and the way they managed crime.
The children learnt that the Anglo-Saxons used shillings and a lot of the punishments used were fines.
Each group was given a series of 'crimes' they had suffered, such as a broken nose and had to use a grid to find out how much the victim was owed.
It was a great activity and practice of the children working in a group together!
"Some criminals would have had to pay from the only money they had!" - Nicole
"They should have just sent them to prison." - Taylor
