Today, Year 6 investigated light and shadow by making our own shadow puppets.
We discussed as a class that shadows are formed when the light from a light source is blocked by an opaque (non-transparent) object. We also started finding patterns in the way that the size of shadows changed.
“When it’s dark, you cannot see. That’s because you cannot see with an absence of light.” - Fola
“When the light source was closer to the object, the shadow was bigger.” - Jolene
“Your eyes can adjust to the dark, only if there is some light! Otherwise, if it’s pitch black, you won’t be able to see.” - Mitchell
