Another Action-Packed Week in Year 5!

It has been another busy and productive week for Year 5!

What We’ve Been Up To:

• Science: We have been exploring properties, changes, and separating materials. The highlight was exploring reversible states of matter by making our own ice cream—observing the transition from liquid to solid and back to liquid! We also investigated soluble and insoluble materials, which sets us up perfectly for next week’s topic: separating and recovering insoluble solids.

  Literacy: Preparations are well underway for writing balanced arguments. The children kicked things off with an energetic 'boxing debate,' going head-to-head in teams with paired 'For' and 'Against' arguments. This oral preparation will feed directly into their independent writing next week.
  
  

• Maths: We are wrapping up our core unit on Place Value, consolidating everything we've built on over the past few weeks.

It’s incredible to see how quickly the children have settled into their daily routines and how much progress they’ve already made. Keep up the fantastic work, Year 5!
