This is an ideal way for you to see what your child is learning this year, how you can help them at home and to have some fun playing some maths games together.

Maple Class Swimming

To all parents/carers of Maple class children,

Just a quick reminder that the children's swimming sessions will begin tomorrow, Monday 8th January. 

Children will be returning to school at approximately 3.15 and can be picked up from Maple class, along with any siblings. 

Please make sure your child comes to school with:

Swimming costume/trunks

A towel

Named bag to store items

Swimming hat 

Goggles (if preferred)

Please note, no aerosols or powders should be given to children, as these can cause problems for children with asthma. Please also ensure that your child brings their swim suit to change into at the pool, and does not wear it under their school uniform. Children should also be wearing shoes which they are able to take on or off quickly and without adult support.

Year 6 Spellings 8th-12th January

Below are the Year 6 Spellings for this week. The weekly test will be on a Friday and children should hand their books in on this day too.  Pupils are expected to practice their spellings for 15 minutes per day as well as practice their times tables and read at home. Children are encouraged to search for the definitions of the words and use them in sentences in order to gain merits for their tracker.

Redwood Star Writer

Well done to Tony Marshall, who is this week's star writer in Redwood. Tony wrote a fantastic set of instructions on how to make a jam sandwich and included imperative verbs, adverbials of time, adverbs and an appropriate structure. Well done Tony- your instructions have made us all hungry!
