This week in Literacy, Year 6 have been reading the book 'Rooftoppers'.
The main characters we have been exploring are Sophie (the protagonist), Charles (her guardian), and Miss Eliot (the seemingly disapproving National Childcare Agency representative). Sophie and Charles have been informed that they are to be separated!
Year 6 had to be reflective and put ourselves in the shoes of Charles. Our upcoming task is to write a persuasive letter back to the agency to explain why this would not be a good choice to follow through.
In order to think of the most convincing arguments, Year 6 sorted some points in a Diamond 9.
"I don't think Sophie being able to climb up whenever she wants is a persuasive argument that Charles should use because he has taught her way more things!" - Chris
"Charles should definitely write about how he has given her cultural capital through Shakespeare and clsasical music." - Ollie H
