Year 6 have started their Summer term off wonderfully in Literacy, where they have been introduced to their new book "Rooftoppers" by Katherine Rundell.
In the first chapter, they learned that a baby girl - who was found abandoned in a cello case - has been taken into the care of a scholar (Charles). They are quite the unexpected pairing, but Charles is determined to be her ward and help raise her.
In groups, the children discussed what they thought of the first chapter and made predictions as to what might happen next.
They were effective in showing reciprocity by taking turns during the discussion and were very resourceful by making links to different parts of the chapter and other books they had read.

The children are already excited to read what will happen next - we cannot wait to see the writing they produce relating to this story!
