Year 6 tackle: how big is my problem?

This week in RSE, we have been learning about problems: how to categorise and solve them.

It is important to understand the difference between little problems and big problems.

Little problems and glitches are small things that happen, which can be resolved quite easily. For example, dropping an ice-cream or losing a football match. They might make you feel sad in the moment, but you can easily move on and forget all about it.

However, there are other more serious problems that can arise. These take longer to move on from and will therefore warrant a bigger reaction.

"Forgetting your PE kit would be a glitch or a little problem. You can just go to the office to ask for a set of PE clothes and remind yourself to bring them next time." - Sophie, Oak

"Witnessing a car crash would be an emergency because you wouldn't be able to solve this by yourself. Emergencies need professionals to help the situation." - Zara, Lime

Well done, Year 6, for using your reflectiveness skills this week to link your previous life events and how you might better respond to them in the future.
